Prayer Shield is a prayer initiative for people to become prayer partners, watchmen-sentinels, who use the power of prayer to safeguard each other's families, church and community.
Prayer Shield is a different initiative from The River prayer meetings as the initiative is to form small groups of committed and supportive intercessors to watch over each other.
The initiative is then to encourage everybody to form small intercession groups of maybe 3 or 4 members. Group sizes may well reflect friendship and ministry groups. The groups can meet together regularly and respond to request for prayer for one another. The groups should also offer mutual pastoral support and care to one another alongside the prayer and pastoral support from the church as a whole and the leadership.
Please let me know which groups have been formed so that anyone who is not part of a group and would like to be, can be provided for.
'The most under-utilised source of spiritual power in our churches today is intercession for one another' C. Peter Wagner
'Now I beg you brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me' Romans 15:30
